The Cumberland Greenway...
The Cumberland Land Trust vision plan for the future of Cumberland is to create one contiguous area of open space from The Monastery Gorunds to Diamond Hill State Park.

Veronica A. Geddes Bowen Preserve is 35 acres of woodland, wetland, pond and streams. Trails are maintained on the property leading to the Monastery Grounds. There are entrance signs on Angell Road and Stone Bridge Road which explains rules and regulations.
High Rock Farm is an 84 acre old dairy farm consisting of 69 acres of protected property surrounding the remaining 15 acre farm which is a private residence. This property boasts a diverse habitat of open fields, upland forest, and a large wetland system supporting 14 rare species of plants. The creation of our Bluebird Trail is an important step to provide nesting sites for a diminishing bluebird population and a great educational project. Access is limited to one marked trail in order to protect critical habitat. Parking is available on Scott Road near the entrance sign.
The Otis Smith Farm Preserve protects 55+ acres of scenic landscape and road frontage while preserving the original setting for the Otis Smith Farm. The preserve is significant for its biological diverse array of wild plants considered rare in Rhode Island. The Otis Smith Farm Preserve is part of The Cumberland Greenway’s Central Trail System. Access is limited to one marked trail in order to protect critical habitat. Parking is available along Scott Road near the entrance sign.
Did you know...
The protection of upland recharge areas and wetlands called watershed lands, is critical to protecting our drinking water. With the earth’s supply of fresh water at less than 1%, do you doubt that drinking water will become more precious than gold in the near future? As a child, did you ever think you’d be paying $2.00 for a bottle of drinking water?
