A ‘New Initiative’ of an Endowment Plan Will Protect Conservation Lands
in the Town of Cumberland for Future Generations!
The expectation of the newly established Endowment
Plan will be to raise the Cumberland Land Trust to a higher professional
level as a charitable organization.
Considering that the Trust is an all-volunteer-managed entity, the Endowment
will be a giant step forward. The long range plan puts the incorporation in a
position for attracting new members and higher revenues for the organization’s
sustainability. This new funding option
places the Cumberland Land Trust in a competitive position for gift giving in
the community.
The considerable land holdings of
the Land Trust will require an increased level of sustainability for stewardship
with each successive
generation. The Endowment will provide the necessary funding for land
management, as well as generate funding for new land acquisitions. The Endowment will perpetuate the
organization into the future.
All donors who help contribute to the Start-up
Fund between 2007 and March 31, 2010 will be entered
into the Endowment “Founders Circle”.
